The exhibition Contemporary Habit(ation) by Andrea Cingoli was inaugurated on Friday 25 September 2015 at 7:00 p.m. at the Creative Workshop of Living. The exhibition presents the prototypes designed by the architect and designer from Teramo, which are on display in the premises of the Creative Workshop of Living and in the cloister of the Civic and Diocesan Museum of Montalcino until Sunday 1 November 2015.
Contemporary living affects us in countless ways that influence our way of life and force us to adapt; such adaptation should not be limited to acting but should also involve the tools we use in our everyday activities.
Our homes are getting increasingly smaller and we have increasingly less time to act, so much so that it seems necessary to redefine even the terminology of the possible actions included in the vocabulary of living: neologisms are born, such as to celeplay (celebrate-play), have wunch (work-have lunch), enjax (enjoy-relax), get eadressed (eat-get dressed), tideat up (tidy up-eat), uncortease (uncork-tease), assemblidy up (assemble-tidy up), tiplay up (tidy up-play), pick-a-break (pick-break).
The objects and images on display show Andrea Cingoli’s design experience and tell about a new way of interpreting reality that leads to a more flexible and meaningful contemporary design.
