redevelopment of the
former tre re restaurant
caravaggio (bg)ongoing
The project involves the redevelopment of the former Tre Rè Restaurant complex and its adjoining rural building in Caravaggio, located along the avenue leading to the Sanctuary of Santa Maria del Fonte. Built in the early 20th century to accommodate pilgrims, the main building is a sober example of early Liberty-style architecture, while the adjacent rural structure, dating back to the 19th century, retains the typical features of a Lombard farmhouse.

Both buildings are currently in a serious state of disrepair, structurally and in terms of infrastructure, and require a complete restoration.

The proposed intervention is a conservative and adaptive restoration, aimed at repurposing the complex for public and socio-cultural use. The main building will house a family counseling center and an art gallery with exhibition and restoration spaces, while the former agricultural building will be transformed into a multipurpose auditorium and service areas.

The project includes seismic and energy efficiency upgrades, the restoration of original decorative elements, and the removal of incongruous additions, while ensuring full accessibility and sustainability through the installation of heat pump systems and photovoltaic panels.
