The complex of the Sanctuary of Altino, in the Seriana valley in the Bergamo area, is a wonderful oasis of solitude, immersed in the environment of a largely unspoilt mountain. It is a place where people can enjoy meeting each other, celebrating, looking at the view and strolling with friends.

Altino is a place that one cannot help loving, even if there was no sanctuary; however, thanks to the sanctuary, Altino is a place of pilgrimage, a “religious” place. Cardinal Tomás Spidlik said “…just like prayer and almsgiving, pilgrimage is one of the natural forms of piety”. The Friends of the Sanctuary have asked me to renovate this place, so that pilgrims can use it again.
